Senior Python Developer – Backend & Product | FINJO I1007

Were a Canada -headquartered product company building tools in the compliance audit space. Were looking for a senior Python developer who thinks like a product ownersomeone who doesnt just ship features, but shapes what gets built and why.

What youll do

Youll own significant parts of our product, end-to-end. That means understanding customer problems, designing solutions, building them on our core stack (FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, RabbitMQ), and iterating based on what you learn. Youll have a seat at the table when we decide what to build nextnot just how.

Youll also own our delivery pipeline. GitHub and GitHub Actions are how we shipyoull design workflows, automate testing, and keep our release process tight. Were not looking for someone who treats CI/CD as an afterthought its part of owning what you build.

We expect you to use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) as a default part of your workflownot as a novelty, but as a force multiplier.

What were looking for

58 years of experience in Python development, preferably in a product company

Strong backend fundamentals: FastAPI (or similar frameworks), PostgreSQL, Docker, async processing with RabbitMQ

Solid GitHub Actions experiencedesigning workflows, automating tests and deployments

Product thinking: you ask why are we building this before how do I build this

Comfortable making decisions, not waiting for specs

More than specific tools, we need someone who can work independently, take ownership of outcomes, and deliver under pressure. We dont micromanagewe set direction and expect you to run with it.
